We are pleased to take this opportunity to introduce you to the members and the Board of our association and our objectives.

Board of Directors

A new Board of Directors was elected on November 13, 2022: 

1st Chairwoman: Birgit Ettinger

Brief introduction:

My name is Birgit Ettinger, I was born and live in 1974, acting as a self-employed physiotherapist. Due to a long-standing connection to Lama Sönam, I wanted to become involved in the Himalaya Karuna association.  
As Chairwoman of the Board, I am delighted to be able to continue the valuable work of Anne Katrin Voss and Peter Kiefer, to support the people in Lama Sönam's homeland and to ensure good transparency in the handling of donations. 

Deputy Chairwoman: Ruth Bucksch

Brief introduction:

My name is Ruth Bucksch, I was born in 1969 and live in Munich. I have known and appreciated Lama Sönam for many years, and I was happy to comply with his request to take on responsibility in Himalaya Karuna Deutschland e.V.: in 2022, the members elected me as Deputy Chairwoman, a great honor and a pleasure at the same time.
Professionally, I work as a project manager and freelance consultant for associations, and I am delighted to be able to contribute my knowledge and experience here for the people of Manang. Education is particularly close to my heart, also because I believe that education is the basis for an open and fair society.

Deputy Chairwoman: Andrea Brang

Brief introduction:

My name is Andrea Brang, I was born in 1960 and live in Bad Eilsen in Lower Saxony. I have worked for many years as a social pedagogue in outpatient youth welfare with families. I have two adult children and three grandchildren.
I have been a member of Himalaya Karuna for several years and am very pleased to be able to make a contribution by supporting Lama Sönam's aid projects in his homeland through my work on the board.

Statutes of Himalaya Karuna Deutschland e.V.

We always have our goals clearly in mind!
In order to ensure transparency for outsiders, we have set out our objectives and the way to achieve them in the following statutes: 

Founding members

The association Himalaya Karuna Deutschland e.V. was initiated by Acharya Lama Sönam Rabgye and founded in April 2008. The first board members were Peter Kiefer, Anne Katrin Voss and Dr. Hans-Robert Reh.
